Code of Conduct
Mission: During six evening dance sessions, students should step outside of their comfort zone both physically and socially to learn not only basic and classic dance steps, but also to better know the people in their class. Students should have fun, but fun often comes with or after a challenge! Students will learn dance fundamentals while learning and reviewing etiquette and fostering thoughtfulness for others in a classy social atmosphere where we present our best selves!
Dance Class Code of Conduct:
RULES for STUDENTS:
- NO phones: Students can get them from the chaperones if emergencies. Pictures are taken before and after class with consent.
- Show the MOST respectful behavior toward partners, instructors, and chaperones, and YOURSELF! (this is noticeable through: eye contact, smile, facing the person talking while NOT talking, dressing appropriately, TRYING, no eye rolling)
- Follow school rules
- Partake in the event's purpose and try, even if it is hard.
- Stay within the designated area and check in with instructors or chaperones if you need a break.
- No foul language
- All students sign this waiver!
- NO Crocs, slippers, or flip-flops - students will watch the class until a change of shoes arrives for the safety of themselves and partners.
Consequences:
- Reminder and discussion with the student during a break from dance.
- Parent / instructor / student meet after the dance session (perhaps parent chaperones, break from one class - we meet to find a solution).
- Removal from the session or all sessions without money returned.
